Putin says ecoomic growth, households' income too low

MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) – Russia’s economic growth is insufficient calling for new solutions for more sustainable and dynamic growth, President Vladimir Putin said at a government meeting devoted to economic issues, according to a protocol published on Monday.

“The trend is positive, of course, but we cannot be satisfied with the dynamics. We need to make economic growth more sustainable and faster. We will discuss additional solutions that we need,” Putin said.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, the gross domestic product (GDP) edged up 0.7% on the year in January–June.

The president said that Russia’s inflation is gradually approaching the central bank’s target at 4.5% annual but growth of people’s income causes worry. “Even on this background and with the salary rise in the economy, people’s real income increases slowly. This state of affairs cannot but cause concern,” he said.
